SOCIAL PRESCRIBING DAY

14 March 2024

Social Prescribing Day is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen.

What better day to announce that our Social Prescribers have become Community Link Workers! While their title has changed, their role remains the same. The Community Link Workers continue to work out of GP practices across Angus and help individuals connect with local support and services, or community groups and activities. Their aim is to empower people to take an active role in improving their wellbeing.

To mark Social Prescribing Day, Voluntary Action Angus will be attending the Dundee University Social Medicine Society All Things Social Prescribing in Tayside even on Thursday 14 March, at Gannochy Trust Lecture Theatre & Ian Lowe Centre, Ninewells Hospital.

Social Prescribing Day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate all things social prescribing. Voluntary Action Angus is proud to highlight some fantastic statistics from our Community Link Working service!
