'To Absent Friends' festival

1st-7th November 2022

To Absent Friends festival runs from 1-7 November yearly, and gives people across Scotland an opportunity to remember, tell stories, celebrate and reminisce, in public spaces, online and in people’s hearts and minds about those we love who have passed because a person or a pets death does not lessen the meaning of the relationship we have with them.

In a culture where death is seen as being too morbid, too difficult or too disturbing to mention, how do we remember and pay our respects to those who have passed? To Absent Friends is a People’s Festival of storytelling and remembrance and is an opportunity to revive lost traditions and create new ones.

Voluntary Action Angus is looking to raise awareness of this special festival and reach out to local organisations that provide support for grief, death and bereavement. As well as this we would like to reach out to members of the public in Angus who are looking for support as we are here to listen and help point you in the right direction.

If you are someone who is looking for support or are a local organisation who provide support for grief, death and bereavement, please get in touch with us at info@voluntaryactionangus.org.uk or call 01307 466113.
