Sidlaw Path Network Steering Group
The tasks involved are maintaining and identifying paths in the neighbourhood of Liff, Birkhill/Muirhead, Auchterhouse, and we have been a very successful organisation over the last 20 or so years. The Rosemill/ Auchterhouse station railway path is an excellent example of what we have helped organise, in conjunction with Angus Council and we are always on the lookout for more paths to add to those available.
As a committee we meet about 7 or 8 times a year and we have our own expert in using weedkillers where necessary, and we have connections with other groups who provide labour for tasks such as cutting back grass and weeds when these become too thick for walkers. So the secretary would have the tasks of organising meetings, booking venues for same, contacting grass cutting groups (including where necessary the appropriate expertise at Angus Council).
