Montrose Community Trust
Nominate a festive friend!
For the last 4 years, we have delivered, in association with The SPFL Trust, our Festive Friends initiative, in support of the elderly and in particular those at risk of social isolation.
Traditionally, this takes place at Links Park Stadium, the home of Montrose Football Club, and involves a tasty Christmas lunch, fun and games, a club gift, as well as the means to get there and home.
However, last year life looked rather different during the holiday season and the initiative had to be adapted to deliver a ‘at home’ version!
With COVID-19 still very much present again this year, we will be delivering an ‘at home’ version in order to protect the wider community, especially over the festive period.
On Tuesday 21st December, we intend on delivering a Christmas hamper, consisting of a meal, gift and goodies, to the doorsteps of 100 older adults, especially those who may be socially isolated.
We have identified – through our existing work – a number of individuals that we wish to support, but we do still have a number of places/meals available, and we are therefore inviting nominations.
If you know of an elderly relative, friend and/or neighbour that would benefit from the delivery of a Christmas lunch hamper on Tuesday 21st December, please nominate them by emailing our Office Manager Gemma via firstname.lastname@example.org, providing us with the following details:
- Full Name
- Contact Telephone Number
- Need (Loneliness/Isolation)
Places are limited, and will be offered (if eligible) on a first-come, first served basis, so please consider making a nomination at your earliest convenience to avoid disappointment. We may not be in a position to support all applications, unfortunately.
