Dorward House

Director Vacancy

Dorward House is looking for new Directors to fill several vacancies on our Board. Dorward House is a 40-bed residential care home providing individual person-centred care for older adults over 65 years of age.

The Board of Directors delegates the responsibility for service delivery and for the day-to-day operations of the care home, to the management team and their staff. Staff are on site 24 hours per day. Dorward House is committed to meeting and promoting the Health and Social Care Standard principles of dignity & respect, compassion, be included, responsive care and support & wellbeing. If we do not meet these, residents and/or their next of kin, family and friends can raise their concerns with us, use our complaints procedure or complain to the Care Inspectorate.

Directors are appointed for three years but are entitled to re-apply for another term and there is no limit to the number of terms which can be served.

Directors’ duties

The duties of Directors include the making of policy and taking strategic decisions for the proper management of Dorward House. In theory, Directors’ involvement in the day-to-day running of the House should be minimal. However, in a small organisation, there are inevitably areas where Directors may require to become personally involved. If you feel you can contribute to Dorward House by becoming a director, please contact us using the details below and we will send out further information: The Chair of the Board, Dorward House, 24 Dorward Road, Montrose, DD10 8SB or email: info@dorwardhouse.com
