Angus Adult Learning Partnership Networking Event

Wednesday 18th May 2022 3-5pm at Carmyllie Hall, Carmyllie DD11 2RA

We would like to invite you to the above event which is being held to bring together representatives from various agencies, organisations and groups who deliver or provide information about Community Based Adult Learning (CBAL) in Angus.

This event is an informal information and networking event which will give presentations about:

  • The development an Angus Adult Learning Providers Network to improve partnership working and enhance Community Based Adult Learning Opportunities for the citizens of Angus.
  • An Angus Adult Achievement Award Network that will seek to increase take up of the award across the county.

The initiative for this event has developed from the Community Learning and Development (CLD) Plan for Angus 2021-24 and has involved initial lead partners, Angus Council Communities Team and Voluntary Action Angus working together to generate funding to take these proposals forward in the form of a CBAL Investment Plan for Angus.

Recent work undertaken to produce the plan identified “lost learning” “health and well-being” and “learner progression” as key priorities, largely resulting from the impact of the Covid pandemic.

It was recognised that Community based adult Learning is critical to delivering change for those affected by those issues whether individually or at an organisational or community level.

We are delighted that Lisa Angus Depute Principal of Newbattle Abbey will be joining us for the afternoon and will give a presentation on the Adult Achievement Award which Newbattle administer nationally.

The AAA offers an SCQF recognised qualification for all ages from 16 + upwards and accredits more traditional learning outcomes and softer skills.

The information and presentation element covers the first part of the event from 3 -4 p.m. and an afternoon tea of soup and stovies will be served from 4.15 p.m. onwards.

Sign-up for the event through this link (and it is open for other any other colleagues who may wish to attend also)
