Angus Homeless Prevention Service
Our Angus Homeless Prevention Service is part of the Relationships Scotland, Family Mediation Service in Tayside and Fife working in partnership with Angus Council.
We are a small team who are trained to support individuals, 16-year-olds and upwards, who are having relationship problems at home, which if left unsupported, could lead to someone being asked to leave. We offer the support needed to repair damaged relationships and help rebuild trust by speaking to all the parties involved and supporting them to find ways together of managing the difficulties they are having. If the individual has already been told to move out, we can help in re-engaging with their family so that ongoing support can continue even if they need to find their own tenancy. We also offer support while they secure somewhere else to live.
- Support families, young people and individuals to resolve their conflicts, to enable the family to remain together in the family home, when it is safe to do so.
- Where someone has already left the family home, we can support the whole family to repair any broken bonds to ensure that the move does not lead to further, unsupported
- Help individuals/family members to access further support from other council run services in Angus, or the wide range of support agencies out there so as to further minimise the risks of homelessness.
We continue to reach out to local agencies in Angus who are working with clients who may be facing a threat of homelessness, through accepting referrals and/or signposting onto the relevant services.
Referrals can be made online via our website; Our Referral Form can be accessed by clicking on the link here.
We are fully funded by Angus council and the services are free to anyone living in Angus.
If you have any questions re the project, potential referrals or would like to know more please don’t hesitate to get in touch by contacting Jenna Otten firstname.lastname@example.org – we would be happy to meet up with anyone on Wednesday 1st September at The Cross.
