RecoverTAY supports people in recovery from addiction and their close families and friends. Our aim is to carry a credible and visible message throughout Tayside by helping reduce stigma for those in recovery and bringing communities together in a positive environment. We provide individuals with information, support, encouragement and hope that recovery is possible by:
• Delivering social events involving drama, music, poetry, and other creative recreational activities that allow us to share stories and information.
• Providing befrienders/recovery advocates (who have lived experience of addiction) to those in need of support, either with their own or a loved one’s addiction.
• Developing the growth of independent ‘grassroots’ recovery within communities across Tayside by utilising the skills, knowledge and understanding of people who have experienced addiction.
