Long Business Description:

Carnoustie Baptist Church is a church in Carnoustie, planted from and still in partnership with Central Baptist Church in Dundee, and a member church of the Baptist Union of Scotland. The first service was held in March 2011 at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel, and we now meet at 101-103 High Street, opposite the War Memorial. The following statement gives a summary of some of our core beliefs:
‘We hold to the historic truths of the Christian faith believing in one God in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That the Bible is the inspired word of God. We also believe that Jesus Christ is the only hope for a broken world and that through his atoning and substitutionary death on the cross he opened up the possibility of forgiveness and relationship with God through faith in Him alone.’

We meet every Sunday at 11am, and everyone, including families, is welcome to come along. Children can go to the Sunday School during part of the service, while parents are welcome to keep younger children in our crèche area at the back of the hall and continue to enjoy the service; there is also a separate crèche room if needed.
After every service tea and coffee are served, which is one way the congregation can get to know one another and care for one another better.

Some of the other things going on in the church include the Knit & Natter group (2pm, 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month) and the Men’s Breakfast (8.30am, 1st Saturday of each month). We also are run a Summer holiday club for primary school-age children!

Long Business Description:

Formally, we are the Church of Scotland congregation in Monifieth, and join together with our sister congregations in Holy Trinity and St Bride’s to be a Christian witness in our community. In practice, this means we are a group of individuals who seek to follow the teachings and example of Jesus in the way we support and care for each other and the people of Monifieth. Through our worship, fellowship and service, we continue to grow into a family of friends.

Worship is conducted in the ‘St Rule’s’ building on Church Street at 11am every Sunday. This is followed by a time of fellowship over refreshments in the Gerard Hall. Everyone is invited to join us, regardless of age or stage of faith.

The Gerard Hall is used throughout the week for other activities, as well as being hired out to other groups for regular and one-off events. Regular activities are listed below, whilst one-off events can be found on our website, Facebook page, our magazine IMPACT (available at Monifieth Library) and advertised locally.
