Established in 2009, Carnoustie Social-Eyes is the only independent social group for Blind or partially sighted people in Angus. The members, who all have a visual impairment, exclusively run Social-Eyes. The group meet on the first Tuesday of every month in Carnoustie.
Members have the opportunity to chat over coffee and biscuits in a relaxed, informal and empathetic way.
Members also enjoy regular talks given by guest speakers, quizzes, and tactile board games. Highlights of the year are the summer and Christmas lunches, and a visit to the local pantomime.
The cost is £1 per month.
New members are always welcome.
If you, or someone you know has a visual impairment, and are interested in joining Carnoustie Social-Eyes, please contact the Secretary, Margaret Morrison on 01241 854936, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the group website at http://www.social-eyes.scot/ or follow us on Facebook.
DBPSS is working towards a world where all people who are blind or partially sighted enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities as everyone else.
We are a membership organisation and membership is open to anyone living in Dundee, Angus, Perthshire, Fife and beyond.
We offer our members advice and support service and run daily social activities, these include bingo, craft clubs, lunch clubs, weekly outings, wheelchair aerobics, etc.
DBPSS recognises that the social activities offered are a vital lifeline to its members, offering them an opportunity to meet and engage with their contemporaries, participate in group outings, share experiences and for many members, it gives a focus for the day/week ahead.
