This means the (role of) employees and people receiving home care will have a greater say in the companies activities and the way it goes about business. The new and more democratic approach to service delivery is based on the relationships of trust between the people providing home help services and the people receiving the services. In essence, the means Care About Angus will always act in the best interest of the people involved and provide a unique person-centred service: always positive and actively caring.

STRIDE is a registered charity (SC044225) which aims to relieve poverty and alleviate suffering of African people in Angus and Dundee city, Scotland and the wider UK.
STRIDE organises and coordinates events aimed at bringing together both African people and other people in the local neighbourhoods in planning on things like local community engagement activities, gardening activities, helping young people with career choices, signposting Africans to other agencies for support with problems such as abuse, gender-based violence, mental health and other social/economic problems.
STRIDE predominantly works in Angus and Dundee city councils.
Social isolation and loneliness are major causes of mental health problems and other anti-social problems amongst inter-generational African people in Angus and Dundee city. Due to their migratory pattern, some African families are isolated due to lack of extended families for support and lack of a community project to bring them together.

We are the UK’s largest children’s charity
We change the lives of the children and young people in the UK who most need our help.
We listen to them, whatever is affecting them.
We believe in them – no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.
This belief started with our founder Thomas Barnardo, who stood up for the most vulnerable children in society.
Our vision is his vision – a world where no child is turned away.
The aims of Angus Voice are:
To influence the strategic direction of Adult Mental Health Services locally, regionally and nationally, and contribute to their overall improvement;
To support Contributors to become actively involved in the planning, development, evaluation and improvement of mental health services delivered by the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors in Angus;
To raise awareness of mental health issues within the wider community, including in Further Education establishments; and challenge the stigma associated with mental ill health.
Why is Angus Voice Important?
People with direct experience of mental health problems have a unique perspective and expertise. Collective advocacy is an opportunity to harness this expertise and use it to benefit and influence the ways in which mental health services in Angus are developed and run, to educate professionals and the public, and to empower and influence contributors’ lives.
We work across Angus, and our office is based in the Angus Independent Advocacy building at 60 High Street, Arbroath DD11 1AW.
