The time commitment is up to you and training will be provided.

What is Kirriemuir Community Sport Hub?
The Kirriemuir Community Sport Hub (CSH) is a voluntary organisation made up of 7 sport clubs; Kirriemuir Youth Football Club, Kirriemuir Bowling Club, Kirriemuir Tennis Club, Kirriemuir Golf Club, Strathmore Rugby Club, Strathmore Cricket Club, Angus Axis Gymnastics Club who aim to work together to promote sporting opportunities to all in Kirriemuir and the surrounding areas. The hub was established in October 2015.

The Sport Hub works in partnership with the ANGUSalive Sports Development team, the Forfar and Kirriemuir Communities Team and other local community organisations.
What are our aims?
Purpose/Objects:
The object of the Hub is to encourage participation of the people of Brechin, and the surrounding area, in a variety of sporting activities in a variety of venues; through:-

Promoting sporting activity for all ages and ability in Kirriemuir.
Identifying needs and options for improving use and access to sporting opportunities in Kirriemuir.
Assisting hub clubs with safeguarding existing facilities used by the clubs in Kirriemuir.
Working with local partners in and around Kirriemuir to provide positive experiences for all in sports or hub activities.
Supporting the individual development of sport clubs in Kirriemuir.
Help raise awareness of all the Sports clubs involved within Kirriemuir CSH

Progress so far
The Kirriemuir Community Sports Hub has its official launch on Saturday April 16, when local clubs will be offering free taster sessions to residents. Based at Webster’s Sports Centre, there will be sports on offer for all ages to try, including bowling, golf, tennis, rugby, cricket, football, gymnastics and combat sports.

Angus Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service

AIDARS covers the whole of Angus through two locality based teams. The North Locality Team covers: Brechin, Montrose, Forfar and Kirriemuir. The South Locality Team covers Arbroath, Carnoustie and Monifeith.

AIDARS offers the following support services:

· Motivational Enhancement Therapy

· In patient and community detox for alcohol and opiates and Opiate Replacement Therapy

· Recovery care planning and self directed support

· Overdose awareness (including Naloxone dispensing), harm reduction and BBV Testing

· Relapse prevention in groups and one to one, supported by medication if required

· Psychological interventions.

AIDARS aims to:

· Respond to referrals requesting drug and alcohol assessments within one week

· Provide an assessment appointment for Opiate Replacement Therapy within three weeks of referral

· Commence non ORT treatments and support for individuals using drugs and alcohol within three weeks of referral

· Enable individual s to access treatment quickly and support them to remain in treatment until they achieve their treatment goals

· To reduce drugs deaths in Angus by providing Overdose Prevention and Intervention training to service users and their families.

· Work with our partners in the third sector to provide a seamless service across the Recovery Oriented System of Care in Angus.
