Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn’t inevitable. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and we can end it for good.
To spread that change and make it last, political solutions are also needed to tackle the root causes of poverty and create societies where empowered individuals can thrive. We will always act, we will speak out, and we won’t live with poverty.

Community Cookit is a Tayside wide community health initiative delivered in partnership with NHS Tayside, Health & Inequalities Team and Perth & Kinross Council. The initiative uses a Train the Trainer model, whereby individuals are provided with a basic level of nutrition knowledge and guidance on how to plan and deliver a cooking skills course in the community. The training is centred on the use of the C.A.N. Cookit Resource, which comprises of a selection of recipes, posters and nutritional game activities. The resource was originally developed by NHS Ayrshire & Arran, and has since been further developed by NHS Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service. Once trained individuals become Cookit Coaches, and can use the C.A.N. Cookit Resource to deliver food skills work with their local community or client group.

In total, the training will take 4 and ½ days and comes in 4 parts:

1. 1 day REHIS: Elementary Food Hygiene (SCQF Level 5)

2. 1 day REHIS: Elementary Food and Health (SCQF Level 5)

3. 2 days Community Cookit

4. Community Cookit follow-up (1/2 day)
