UPDATE: We are currently looking for a volunteer driver. Duties include Emptying clothing bank ( at Forfar tescos) weekly, Local pickups as and when required. Volunteers must have own transport and mileage will be paid to them.
We are also looking for a Support Volunteer. You’ll support people living with our conditions to develop autonomy and confidence in self-management, enabling them to engage fully in activities of their choosing and with their community. You’ll provide specified support for the service user which will be dependent upon their individual goal(s), providing support with specific physical and/or everyday activities/support with specific use of communication strategies. This may involve either one-to-one or small group support or a combination of both. The service user benefits from support either in Hospital or in their home.  It allows them to grow in confidence and to socialise and develop their communication skills. The volunteer has to the opportunity to meet a wide range of interesting people who have experienced stroke, to develop their support skills and to make a positive impact n people’s lives. The volunteer will receive ongoing support from CHSS staff and will receive training in Emergency First Aid, Manual Handling, assisting with Mobility and volunteer role and boundaries.  The volunteer is required to supply two references and join the PVG scheme. There will also be an opportunity to undergo further trading in Speech and Communication, Communication Breakdown, Conflict Resolution and Complex Communication Needs.

The Forfar Store have volunteering opportunities on a Sunday in the Forfar Store 12-5. This is for a shop floor/stockroom volunteer helping refill shop and serving customers. If you would like to know more, please contact Sam Senkel on sam@voluntaryactionangus.org.uk.

CHSS relies on a team of volunteers to help support paid staff, making a difference to Scotland’s health by helping out in one of our stores to raise funds needed to deliver services. The Forfar store are currently recruiting volunteers in; Displaying and Merchandising; Customer Care; Stockroom and Charity Stock Driver. Potential volunteers must have a competent level of the English language. CHSS will provide all necessary training and authorised expenses are reimbursed.
